An interactive infographic showing the covenants of the Bible. The Covenants seeks to visually communicate both the timeframe, and structure of the covenants found throughout the text.

The Covenants

Problem

For many, it is difficult to understand the relationship and how the covenants work together when reading the Bible. So many events happen in between that one gets lost from covenant to covenant and generally forgets them altogether. People often only focus on two; the old covenant and the new. Without further insight, it becomes easy to gravitate toward the new and discard the old. However, this is not what God intended.

Process

I used Codepen.io as a platform to build the prototype. Codepen makes it easy to get quick ideas out and allow people to start clicking. I threw down some HTML and Sass to conceptualize the layout. After, I included JQuery and the JavaScript library, ScrollReveal for a bit of animation.

Solution

I designed the infographic to be interactive and encourage the user to click into the timeline and explore. Surfacing the covenants and sharing pertinent information helps guide the user to learn more about their relationships and blessings.
